Our Custom Window Installation Process

In-Home Consultation & Assessment

We begin by visiting your home to evaluate the existing windows, discuss your goals, and review the available custom window options. Whether you’re replacing specialty shapes, oversized windows, or unique configurations, we’ll help you explore practical solutions that complement your home’s design. Our approach is simple — experienced guidance without high-pressure sales tactics.

Custom Window Design & Product Selection

Working with Andersen and Simonton, we help you select the appropriate window styles, frame materials, colors, and energy-efficient glass options for your project. We review the manufacturer’s available configurations and specifications to ensure your selections meet your home’s architectural and functional requirements. You’ll receive a clear proposal outlining the scope of work and total installed price.

Accurate Field Measurements & Ordering

Custom windows require precise measurements to ensure a proper fit. Before placing the order, we verify the dimensions and installation requirements for each window opening. We coordinate the ordering process with the manufacturer, reviewing the specifications and available options to minimize errors and help ensure a smooth installation.

Professional Custom Window Installation

Our experienced installation team carefully removes the existing windows, prepares the openings, and installs your new custom windows with attention to proper fit, weather sealing, insulation, and finishing details. We understand the challenges associated with specialty window configurations and take the time necessary to complete each installation correctly. We focus on one project at a time, giving your home the attention it deserves.

Final Inspection & Walkthrough

Once installation is complete, we inspect the finished work, verify the operation of applicable windows, and review the completed project with you. We address any remaining details and answer your questions about operation and maintenance. Our commitment to quality workmanship continues beyond installation, backed by our five-year limited workmanship warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to manufacture and install custom windows?

Custom windows typically take 4-7 weeks from measurement to installation — that's manufacturing time plus scheduling. We measure precisely on day one, then your Andersen or Simonton windows are built to your exact specifications. Once they arrive, installation usually takes 2-4 days depending on how many windows you're replacing. We'll give you a clear timeline upfront, no surprises.

What's the cost difference between standard and custom window installation?

Custom shape windows run about 15-30% more than standard sizes. The exact difference depends on your specific needs — unusual shapes, specialty glass, all factor in. We price everything - materials, labor, and any structural modifications needed. No hidden fees, no surprise add-ons. We'll show you options in both standard and custom so you can make the choice that fits your home and budget.

What measurements do you need for custom window manufacturing?

We handle all measurements ourselves — it's too important to leave to chance. Our installers measure the rough opening, existing frame dimensions, sill angle, and wall thickness. For historic homes, we also document trim profiles and any unique architectural details. This precision work happens during your free consultation. You don't need to climb any ladders or figure out a tape measure. That's what we're here for.
